What you Should Know About Your Credit Report

If you have ever used a credit card, taken out a loan or taken advantage of a "purchase now, pay later" offer, you will have a credit history.

Your credit history is recorded in files maintained by at least one of Canada's three major credit-reporting agencies: Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. The files are called credit reports.

It's a good idea to request a copy of your credit report from the three credit-reporting
agencies at least once a year to verify that your personal information is correct and up to date. It is also important to check that you have not been a victim of identity fraud. To get copies of your free credit
